GIRARD, Ohio - The widow of a Girard man has reached a settlement in the lawsuit over her husband's death after he was repeatedly pepper sprayed in a Florida jail.
Nicholas Christie was visiting Naples in 2009 when he stopped taking his medications and started acting erratically.
Police arrested him on trespassing charges at a motel.
His wife, Joyce, brought the suit against the county's sheriff after the coroner ruled Christie's death a homicide.
Her attorney says the settlement was "well into the seven figures."
