YSU women looking to sweep Cleveland State this season

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's basketball team has not lost back-to-back games this season.

They'll try to continue that trend Thursday night against Cleveland State.

A win would give YSU their first sweep of the Vikings in eight seasons. A victory would also give the Lady Penguins eight conference wins, their most since joining the Horizon League.

Despite their 12 and 13 overall record, the Vikings feature one of the premiere players in the league, Shalonda Winton.

YSU coach Bob Boldon said Winton is "very difficult to guard, very active at the other end of the floor." Boldon also said that Winton gives the Vikings a "chance to win every night. "
