Jackson Milton high school student raises money for literacy advocacy

Posted: Updated:

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio - A Jackson Milton High School student is leading by example.

For her class project, Kelly McCorkle helped raise money for People Restoring Educational Priorities, a non profit group advocating literacy.

To show their appreciation, representatives from PREP donated new books to first graders at Jackson Milton Elementary School.

"My love for reading is what inspired me to find a program to help and give back to our community," McCorkle said.

PREP'S Read and Succeeds Program promotes and encourages literacy by donating new books to students.
