YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Jewish Community Center in Youngstown invited kids and teens to enjoy a special celebration.
At the Purim Carnival there was a costume contest, various games, a bounce house and more activities for kids to enjoy.
Another favorite was visiting with Wee Gee an Umbrella Crested Cockatoo that was featured on Animal Planet.
"Back in biblical times it originated and the story is there was this man named Hamen who wanted the destruction of all the Jews. The Jews weren't destroyed, they survived, so we celebrate that, we celebrate our survival," said Sarah Wilschek, Youth and Family Program Coordinator at the Jewish Community Center.
This is one of many programs the Jewish Community Center has for kids.
