AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Negotiations are expected between an federal mediator and the Austintown School Board today.
The Austintown Education Association authorized their strike to team to issue a 10-day strike notice last week in response to the "actions of both Superintendent Colaluca and the board's bargaining team."
However, they hope that the mediation session will help resolve the issues, dissolving the need for a strike.
The union is expected to meet at the board offices today around 3 p.m.
Members of the AEA, which represents 315 people, handed out informational flyers about the bargaining issues around the neighborhoods over the weekend.
