YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The deadline is inching closer to the $85 billion in automatic federal spending cuts if a deal isn't made.
This week, the White House released a list detailing how the cuts would impact jobs and services.
Just in education, the cuts listed in Ohio include $25.1 million in funding cuts, which could put 350 teacher and aide jobs at risk.
Funding for educating children with disabilities would be slashed by $22 million.
In Pennsylvania it's a similar story. School funding would be cut by more than $26 million, putting 360 teacher and aide jobs at risk.
Educating children with disabilities funding would drop by close to $21.4 million.
Among the Valley districts contacted by 21 News Tuesday, Austintown Superintendent Vince Colaluca says he worries about the funding for teaching children with disabilities.
Colaluca says state funding covers a quarter of their budget for educating children with disabilities and he worries about meeting federal mandates without financial support.
The Ohio Department of Education has not received anything concrete from the U.S. Department of Education. If the cuts do take place, the state department's spokesperson says the impact won't be felt until the 2013-2014 school year.
