NEW CASTLE, Pa. - A father and son were taken to the hospital after a high rise apartment fire Saturday morning.

Lance Druga sustained second degree burns on his face and feet while trying to smother a grease fire in his father Mark Druga's kitchen at Skyview Towers, 219 N. Beaver St.

Mark Druga suffered smoke inhalation from the fire that filled his fourth floor apartment with smoke.

They were transported to Jameson Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters repsonded to the fire at 10:36 a.m. and extinguished the blaze with water and a dry extinguisher and the apartment has minor smoke and soot damage.

Skyview Towers is a public housing development for disabled people and people 50 years-or-older.
