YSU's Brandi Brown racking up with honors

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – YSU's Brandi Brown's performance last week of 81 points and 34 rebounds in two games has earned her a couple of awards.

She is the Horizon League's player of the Week, and ESPN's National Player of the Week.

Brown needs nine points to reach the 2,000 point plateau.

The Penguins look to avenge an earlier loss to Valparaiso Monday night and get their 21st win.

"Valpo left a bad taste in our mouth when we we're over there. They outplayed us for the last 30 minutes of the game and that hasn't been forgotten. I think it's a game that our players are looking forward to playing. They're coming off a tough road swing," said YSU coach Bob Boldon.

"No expectations so far. It hasn't even crossed my mind, scoring or rebounding numbers. I think we expect to come out here and work hard," said Brandi Brown.
