FARRELL, Pa. - An initial list of brick roads in the city slated for pavement was presented to city council last week.
City manager Michael Ceci says city council has expressed dislike for the sett roads in the past, but disrepair in some of the city's paved roads had to be addressed first.
A preliminary report from engineers on costs to pave the streets is expected by the end of the month at which time Ceci will submit the proposal with a final list of streets to city council for approval.
From there, it could be several months before the project begins.
The streets will be paved using $130,000 in Community Development Block Grant money from the state that is meant for low- to moderate-income areas.
The initial list of street sections is:
-Emerson Avenue between George and Idaho streets and between Roemer Boulevard and Negley Street.
-Beechwood Avenue between Roemer Boulevard and Negley Street.
-Hamilton Avenue between Roemer Boulevard and Negley Street.
-Federal Street between Spearman and Market avenues.
