PA students arrested after allegedly assaulting staff member, stealing car

MERCER COUNTY, Pennsylvania - Two 15-year-olds have been arrested after allegedly assaulting a school staff official, stealing the person's car and wrecking the vehicle.

Police say the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday at George Junior Republic, where the suspects are students.

The suspects allegedly assaulted the staff member to take his car keys, at which point they made their way onto Interstate 80 with the stolen vehicle, according to a report.

The suspects were eventually apprehended at exit 45 after wrecking the vehicle. They will be charged with aggravated assault, robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and escape.
