YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Demonstrators gathered outside the Mahoning County Courthouse Thursday morning to bring attention to money the county is missing out on.
A group associated with Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company Homes held signs to passersby on Market Street
The purpose of the demonstration was an attempt to get the attention of oil and gas companies planning to drill and lay pipeline in the area of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company.
The group fears the historic homes are in danger by oil and gas exploration and, with proper investment, the homes can be used for steel workers again.
The group says historical sites bring revenue, jobs and tourism to cities and counties.
