CANFIELD, Ohio - A note found in a Canfield High School hallway prompted school administration to evacuate the school and send students home for the day.

Candace Smith, the sophomore student who found the note, told reporters she cannot remember what the note said exactly but it had the words "bombing" and "lunch" on it.

"We didn't know if it was a joke or not ... so we thought we should bring it to the office just in case," Smith said.

Around 11 a.m., the school announced a rapid evacuation but did not give a reason, reported Tom Ciccolelly, a senior at Canfield.

After the students were outside, rumors began to swirl about the note, he said.

Students' parents were notified of the bomb threat shortly after the school was evacuated.
