WARREN, Ohio - An important anchor for downtown Warren gets a major renovation.

Outside the Best Western Park Hotel, Warren and Trumbull County officials have a reason to celebrate as Ashook Patel and community leaders cut the ribbon on a new and improved hotel.

In the past, people who had business to do in Trumbull County and Warren, including people in the oil and gas industry, had to stay miles away, which has been inconvenient.

"Now we're going to be able to tell them they don't have to go all the way out to the strip. They can stay here and when they have a meeting with us they can just walk across the street where it is very convenient for them," said Paul Heltzel, Trumbull County Commissioner.

Ashok and Jay Patel bought the facility about a year and a half ago, and have installed a camera system that allows the staff to monitor the parking lot outside the hotel.

There are conference rooms and a computer center for business people.

The interior of the hotel and the décor of all the rooms is new; one million dollars in improvements. That's not including the price of the hotel.

Many rooms even have a nice view of downtown Warren's Courthouse Square.

Warren's Mayor Doug Franklin and Trumbull County commissioners say this is a positive step in the transformation of the downtown.
