YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - A group of North Dakota students left the place cleaner after traveling through Ohio en route to a service project in Washington, D.C.

About 30 students from North Dakota State University stopped in Youngstown during the past week while on a 9-day, 1,500-mile bus trip from Fargo, N.D., to Washington.

They spent part of their day in Ohio cleaning up at the Children's Center for Science and Technology in downtown Youngstown. They washed and disinfected tables, chairs and exhibits.

The students are part of a nondenominational organization that promotes leadership through community service.

The day the students were in the Valley, temps were in the 50s while back in Fargo it was 3 degrees. One student told our print partner, The Vindicator, that Ohio weather felt like Florida for the North Dakota visitors.
