YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - "Deglaciation" was the winning word in today's 80th annual The Vindicator Spelling Bee.

Sixty students from public, private, charter, parochial, and home schools in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Mercer counties participated in Saturday's competition at Youngstown State University.

Max Lee, an eighth grader at Canfield Middle School, was the winner for the second consecutive year.

As the regional champion, Max will represent the Valley at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. during the week of May 26th through June 1st.
