Kravitz Deli corned beef sales up

Posted: Updated:

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Kravitz Delicatessen fell short of a goal to sell 8,500 pounds of corned beef but still had record sales during the 2013 St. Patrick's Corned Beef Festival.

Jack Kravitz, owner of the deli, reports they sold between 6,500 and 7,000 pounds of corned beef, at least a 20 percent increase from previous years.

The spike in sales is attributed to several events the deli held and took part in during the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day.

The deli also held a food challenge in which customers could try to eat a sandwich made with a loaf of rye bread and a pound of corned beef.
