Possible female victims in Brother Baker case

Posted: Updated:

ALTOONA, Pa. - An attorney representing several male sexual abuse victims believes female athletes and cheerleaders were also targeted by a former teacher and athletic trainer.

Atty. Richard M. Serbin said in a release Wednesday that he is representing one such woman who attended Bishop McCort High School where Brother Stephen Baker was an athletic trainer.

"She understood Brother Baker was an athletic trainer who was repsonsible for treating athletic injuries," Serbin said of the client who was 15 years-old when the sexual abuse began.

Serbin is currently investigating the situation to find out how many girls may have been victimized by Baker.

Dozens of men who attended Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Johnstown and John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Warren, Ohio have come forward as victims of Baker.
