OSU turned season around before disappointing end

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State fans were extremely disappointed after the second-seeded Buckeyes lost to a No. 9 seed, Wichita State, in Saturday's regional championship game in Los Angeles.

They forget that just six weeks earlier their team was coming off a shellacking at Wisconsin that left many wondering whether the Buckeyes could even finish in the top five in the Big Ten - let alone the Final Four in the country.

The Buckeyes (29-8) closed with a flourish, going on an 11-game winning streak that carried them through the conference championship game and all the way to the Elite Eight.

On the morning after their season ended, the Buckeyes were left to contemplate a future without their only senior, Evan Ravenel, and most likely the Big Ten's leading scorer, junior Deshaun Thomas.
