Trash still left in parts of Austintown

Posted: Updated:

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Officials from Republic Services almost caught up with trash collection that was delayed by a Teamster's strike.

But there was one major part of Austintown that has recycling still sitting on the curb.

Solid Waste Management says that is the one area where there has been an issue and they have some advice for those who live north of New Road and west of Route 46.

"We only had one reported section that was missed during that time, and probably won't be picked up. And that area was north of New Road and west of 46. We are urging those residents to take it out to our drop-off sites. There are four drop-off sites in Austintown which again was most heavily impacted by that," said Louis Vega, interim director of Solid Waste Management.
