YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A photographic exhibit focused on the Hubbard Blast Furnace opened at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor Thursday evening.
The show case features 32 original photos from the mid-nineteenth century up to the 1960's of furnaces in the area, that produced iron for nearly a century.
The photos depict evolution in iron making at the historic Hubbard furnace.
"I became interested in the iron industry that built the Mahoning Valley in the mid 1800's and I just started to collect pictures and photographs and information and anything I could from every iron mill that used to be here from Loweville up to Warren and Hubbard," said Clayton Ruminski, the creator of the exhibit.
The exhibit will be open to the public now through early summer.
