PENNSYLVANIA - A fee for natural gas drilling in Pennsylvania generates $198,000,000.
The fee raised $204,000,000 in 2011. Officials say 2012 generated less money due to falling natural gas prices.
The $198,000,000 is an estimate because producers can challenge their payment amounts.
Most of the money goes to help with the local effects of drilling, but some also goes to state agencies for other purposes.
Ohio does not have such a fee.
