Rosemary Durkin, former Clerk of Courts, passes away at 84

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Former Youngstown Clerk of Courts Rosemary Durkin passed away over the weekend.

Durkin is known as one of the Valley's most prominent political figures. She was the first woman in Mahoning County to hold a major public office.

In 2010 she was named to the 2010 Mahoning County Democratic Party Hall of Fame.

Durkin served in her position for nearly 25 years before retiring in 1999.

Higgins-Reardon funeral home handled a private service for Durkin on Monday. No other arrangements have been made.
