GM Lordstown unveils new diesel Chevy

LORDSTOWN, Ohio - General Motors is unveiling the new Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel on Thursday at its Lordstown location.

The car, which will go on sale in the United States and Canada in a matter of weeks, will be on display from 10 a.m. to noon. An engineer will be on sight to answer questions about the technology of the vehicle.

This display will mark the first time the diesel Cruze has appeared publicly in the Mahoning Valley.

Our print partner The Vindicator reports that the model is expected to begin arriving at dealerships across the country in two to six weeks.

GM Lordstown assembles diesel engine prototypes for the German company to review before release.

The cars construction is on track for its scheduled release date.

The diesel engine is built in Germany, and asembly takes place at Lordstown, where about 150 prototypes have been built for the company to review.
