YSU students walk in candlelight vigil

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University students walked for peace Thursday night.

Members of the Catholic Student Association invited all students to a vigil on campus to honor those killed and injured in the recent explosions in Boston and in Texas.

Students prayed and lit candles at the Newman Center and then walked through campus to the university's 9/11 memorial.

"We're all in this together. That's one of the points you're going to hear highlighted tonight through some of the readings that are going to happen is that even in the darkest hours in what happened Monday and what happened in Texas last night, humans are there in this country willing to go out and completely risk their lives for another," said Mark Stanford, Catholic Student Association member.
