Volunteers take to Mill Creek for clean up

Posted: Updated:

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Nearly 490 volunteers braved the blistering cold for the annual Earth Day Clean-up at Mill Creek MetroParks Saturday morning.

It's the 31st year for the event that aims to remove the litter and debris that built up over the winter.

Nearly 30 different Cub Scout packs and Boy and Girl Scout troops from around the Mahoning Valley scoured 32 locations throughout the park system.

The Recycling Division of the Mahoning County Green Team provided volunteers, garbage and recycling bags, and other supplies for the volunteers.

For more information on the annual event, contact the Ford Nature Education Center at 330-740-7107.
