Farrell street to be made safer by city council

Posted: Updated:

FARRELL, PA. - Residents have been complaining to city officials for months about their kids safety, and their voices are finally being heard.

Wreckless driving has plagued the stretch of Roemer Boulevard in front of Farrell Schools. Locals say that cars stop suddenly and weave through traffic when children are being dropped off and picked up from school.

Curbside parking on the south side of the street contributes to the issue.

Last week, city council members approved the first reading of measure to ban parking between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on school days between Pargny Street and Mercer Avenue.

Council will meet again on Monday evening to approve the second reading.
