COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Racing Commission will consider changes made to a racino development plan in Austintown by Penn National Gaming.
The ORC and Penn National continued discussions on patron seating at the proposed track. Penn National presented a revised seating plan that would add up to 1,400 seats.
The commission said it would look at modifications made to their plan and respond at a later meeting next week.
Penn National said they were working on modifying the seating within their current development plan to save time and money on a complete redevelopment.
Penn National wanted construction to be underway by now and Austintown officials say the delay is posing a problem for the developers' construction timetable.
The original start date for construction was initially planned for the first week in April. Penn National is now hoping it can get its Austintown project shovel ready before the summer construction season ends.
The $250 million racino project is expected to bring not only construction jobs, but also 1,000 racino jobs.
