Gun Violence Rally to be held outside of Energy Job Fair

BOARDMAN, Ohio - A group of people against gun violence will meet outside of the Energy Jobs Fair at the Boardman Holiday Inn on Monday morning.

The Rally to Stop Gun Violence will begin at 9 a.m. during Senator Portman's address.

Representative Bob Hagan will be leading the event, and says he expect 10 or 15 people to join him.

"It's a reminder to a US Senator that his vote, ignoring 80 to 90 percent of the public, who want background checks, we're watching you," Hagan says.

The rally is intended to be a showcase, however, Hagan says that he will confront the Senator if he has the opportunity.

"If we sit on our hands, the government stays the same. I want the government to change," Hagan says. "I'm reminding him that I'm running against him for the US Senate because of this vote and other votes. It's three years down the road, but I want him to know that people are watching him."
