One dead after fire in Vienna

Posted: Updated:

VIENNA, Ohio - A fatal fire off of state Route 193 over the weekend left one man dead and his mobile home a total loss.

The mobile home, located at 15 Lakewood in the Four Seasons Mobile Home Park, was owned by 65-year-old Richard Baglier. The fire was called in around 11:30 Saturday night by a neighbor at 25 Lakewood.

Two firefighters, a police officer and the neighbor arrived on the scene and tried to get in to the mobile home, but the heat prevented them from entering.

Chief Richard Brannon of the Vienna Fire Department says all signs point to the fire being an accident, and no foul play is suspected but the fire is still under investigation.

He says no surrounding mobile homes were damaged in the fire.

Brookfield and Fowler Fire Departments were called to assist the fire, as well as Youngstown Air Base. Brannon says they don't believe anyone else was living in the mobile home with Baglier.

Brannon will meet with the Fire Marshal Monday morning to discuss the fire further.
