Parking amnesty week begins in Youngstown

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Monday was the start of amnesty week for people who have outstanding, un-paid parking tickets in Youngstown.

Between now and Saturday, you can pay only the original cost of $10 per ticket and have your record cleared.

The Clerk of Courts is encouraging people to take advantage of this opportunity to save some money.

"We've had two people who owed $1500 come and pay the $500 today and they were very appreciative. We've had 181 tickets paid," said Youngstown Clerk of Courts Sarah Brown-Clark.

During amnesty week, the clerk's office will have extended hours until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

People with unpaid tickets in the city are subject to having their vehicle towed or impounded.
