Eight students honored for winning Green Team contest

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio--  Eight Mahoning Valley students are honored by Mahoning County's Green Team, as well as Mahoning County Commissioners.

The eight young people had the winning poster designs out of 1390 entries from area Mahoning County public, private, and parochial schools.

Each poster had a recycling or anti-litter theme.

The prize-winning work will be made into placemats to be used at area restaurants.

The winners received an American Express gift certificate, as well as other certificates from the Green Team.

The winning students and their schools are:  Ava Bosnjak, Stadium Drive Elementary; Cameron Orville, St. Nicholas School; Arianna Morales, West Boulevard Elementary; Haley Trolio, Poland Dobbins Elementary; Stefania Marciniak, Canfield Village Middle; Hayley Figueroa, Campbell Middle; Mitch Medved, Poland Middle; and Joseph Chepke, St. Joseph/Immaculate Heart of Mary School.
