Gov. Kasich to attend grand opening of Youngstown plant

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Gov. John Kasich will be in town Tuesday for the grand opening of a new fabricating plant in the city.

Exterran is unveiling a 65,000 square foot production facility that will fabricate equipment for the natural gas and oil industry.

The governor will join Exterran officials along with state and local leaders to cut the ribbon on the Salt Springs Road facility at 11:45 a.m. that day. 

Exterran plans to employ 80 people at the plant which will make equipment needed for processing natural gas and shale after it is extracted from the ground such as separation, dehydration, natural gas conditioning, oil treating and conditioning, filtration and air emissions control equipment.

The Houston-based company has about 10,000 employees worldwide in 30 countries.
