House fire in Sharon destroys home of elderly couple

SHARON, Pennsylvania- A house fire in Sharon destroyed the home of an elderly couple yesterday.

The house is located at 366 Brooklyn Street in Sharon.

Fire crews from Sharon, Farrell, and Brookfield all responded to the fire, which happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.  

The home belonged to an elderly couple. They are now staying elsewhere.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

    About 85 Ohio Edison customers are without power in Green Township after a car struck a utility pole early Monday morning, bringing down power lines.  Dispatchers say the accident happened around 5:40 a.m. on State Route 165 in Green Township. The vehicle caught fire in the crash.  Power in Green Township is expected to be restored around 9 a.m., according to the First Energy website.  More >>
