Lawrence County pays tribute to fire fighter killed in a motorcycle accident

Posted: Updated:

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania - A Scott Township fire fighter, who was killed in a motorcycle accident this past week, was laid to rest Saturday in Lawrence County.

A truck from every fire department in Lawrence County was involved in the funeral procession for 68-year-old Dan Gallatin.

Gallatin was riding his motorcycle Tuesday afternoon in Hickory Township when he was struck by a SUV on Route 956.

Gallatin's son talked about the tribute to his dad. "All the people that were here, the amazing amount of motorcyclists that my dad had ridden with in the past and the fire trucks from every township and borough in Lawrence County; it was just amazing to see. It was pretty awesome and pretty touching," said Brian Gallatin.

Dan Gallatin served as Scott Township Fire Chief in 1977.
