YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP) will host their Community Action Awareness Day Friday, May 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Wick Park Recreation Center, located inside of Wick Park, 260 Park Avenue, Youngstown.
According to a release, the day is to help people and change lives—come alive by hosting events that help put a "face" on the families and individuals living in poverty.
Community Action Agencies also use this month to call attention to poverty-related problems. As Community Action Agencies showcase their programs, they also give local residents—many who are unaware of the poverty in their communities—a first-hand look at the struggles low-income families face and how Community Action programs help them.
MYCAP will have a variety of activities for people of all ages. Also, there will be individuals from Mahoning County who have benefited from MYCAP's services on hand throughout the day.
