LORDSTOWN, Ohio - Police have identified the body that was found badly burned in a vehicle on Industrial Trace Road.

Police tell 21 news Michael C. Anderson, 23, whose last known address was on 7th Street in Warren, was the man found.

The Trumbull County Coroner's Office began the autopsy this morning and a cause of death is still pending.

The investigation is still being treated as a homicide.

Police believe Anderson may have been friends with the person who owned the car he was found in.

A passerby called 911 after noticing the vehicle engulfed in flames near a cell phone tower on Tuesday afternoon.

When the fire was extinguished authorities discovered a body inside.

Lordstown has not had a homicide case since the late 1970's according to the chief.

If anyone has any information on this most recent case, they should immediately call Lordstown Police. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
