Motorcycle strikes back end of car in Canfield

CANFIELD, Ohio - The highway patrol is investigating a crash between a motorcycle and vehicle.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday, a motorcycle struck the rear end of a vehicle near the intersection of 224 and Tippecanoe in Canfield.

The motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

    It looked like a yard sale outside a Southington home on Friday as deputies displayed chain saws and other power equipment that they believe was stolen from a business. Acting on an anonymous tip, deputies from Geauga and Trumbull County Sheriff's departments searched a home on the 2800 block of Oakwood Drive Friday morning, where they found between 40 and 50 pieces of power equipment.

    The Mahoning County OVI Task Force says it will conduct two sobriety checkpoint this weekend. According to a news release, the checkpoints will be held somewhere in the county on Saturday and Sunday. The release says further details about the checkpoints will be released later. In the past, the Task Force has revealed the specific times and locations of the checkpoints shortly before they are scheduled to begin.
