Ribbon cutting and dedication held for Stambaugh Auditorium garden

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- The Stambaugh Auditorium has unveiled its revamped formal garden.

A ribbon cutting and dedication took place at the garden Thursday morning for the estimated $67,000 project.

A $24,000 donation from the Stambaugh Pillars organization helped pay for the rennovations, which included new landscaping, season flowers and new stone walkways to create more space for future events and intimate functions.

"Because it is so visible, you can drive by here and you don't have to go into the building," Karl Roach said, Stambaugh Pillars vice chairman. "I think it will sho that the people of this area, not just Youngstown city, the people of this area are interested in the assets that they have here.

The auditorium will debut its outdoor concert series in the gardens this June. The Bands at the Baugh concerts will feature local artists on the third Thursday of each month through September. '
