Body of missing Mercer man found

Posted: Updated:

MERCER COUNTY, PA - Police have identified a body of a missing man in Jefferson Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say 46-year-old Douglas John Kerr was found in a wooden area off of State Route 258 near the Shenango Reservoir.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, according to a release from Pennsylvania State Police, however the investigation is still continuing.

Kerr was last seen by his father on May 29th, at about 6:00 p.m. in  Coolspring Township just outside Mercer Boro.

He was riding a maroon colored bike.

Family tell police it was completely unlikely that he would not keep them informed as to his whereabouts.

Kerr's father tells 21 News that this it was out of character for his son, who is known to often play the drums in a band.

State police say they've tracked his most recent debit card transactions and found nothing. He also never showed up for work.

An autopsy will performed today.
