Police: Juvenile may have fabricated allegations in case of missing Campbell man

Posted: Updated:

CAMPBELL, Ohio - While police are continuing the search for a man suspected of making advances toward a 12-year-old girl, one official says that some of what was said may not have been true.

Police began searching for 30-year-old Deletaire White earlier this month after he fled from a home with a shotgun after arguing with the 12-year-old girl's mother. It was reported that White may have made advances toward the girl but Campbell Police Seargent John Rusnak said that it appeared that some of what the juvenile said may not have been true.

Rusnak said that the girl had been told by her mother not to talk to some boys and they believe this may have caused her to want to get White in trouble.

No warrants have been filed and police plan to reinterview the girl. Rusnak said they would want White to come in at his own volition.
