Scrappers host High School Valley All-Star Classic this Friday

NILES, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are excited to announce they will be hosting a High School Valley All-Star Classic, presented by Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods and media partner 21 WFMJ, on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Eastwood Field. The High School Valley All-Star Classic will feature elite high school players from the Mahoning Valley.

Tickets for the High School Valley All-Star Classic are on sale now and are $5 for General Admission Seats. They will be available at the Eastwood Field Box Office, by calling 330-505-0000 or online at www.mvscrappers.com.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are the Short Season Single A Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and play all home games at Eastwood Field. Notable alumni include C.C. Sabathia, Vinnie Pestano, Jason Kipnis, and Victor Martinez.     A Youngstown couple has been charged in connection with the cocaine overdose death of a nine-year-old boy. The Mahoning County Grand Jury on Thursday handed up six count indictment against 39-year-old Raenell Allen and 38-year old Kevin Gamble, charging them with involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, and endangering children. According to the Mahoning County Coroner's Office, Marcus Lee Jr., died of acute cocaine toxicity the day after Christmas. .
