YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – It's day two of the Major League Baseball draft.

No local players were taken in the first two rounds of the draft, but on Friday one of Youngstown State's best is heading to the big leagues.

Penguins third baseman Drew Dosch was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the seventh round; 219th pick overall.

Dosch is now the highest YSU player drafted into the majors since Justin Thomas was taken in the fourth round back in 2005.

The Canal Winchester native led the Horizon League with .434 on base percentage and was among the top five in batting average, runs, hits, slugging percentage and doubles.
