2nd Annual Mahoning Riverfest: a ride to remember

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -  Canoers and kayakers hit the waters at the Mahoning River for the 2nd Annual Mahoning Riverfest.

The festival  was hosted by The Friends of Mahoning River, a nonprofit organization with the goal of revitalizing the Mahoning River.

Participants canoed and kayaked up and down the river by the B&O Station, including Youngstown First Ward councilwoman Annie Gilliam. 

The festival is sponsored by the city,which provided a grant for the funding, Vallourec Star, and Bass Home Inspection, according to a release.
