MERCER COUNTY, PA – Work begins on a new project announced by PennDOT that will replace an "aging, structurally deficient" bridge on Route 173.
Construction started Monday, according to a release. The project will replace the existing 35-foot-long bridge for a 52-foot-long bridge. Officials say the roadway will be a much smoother ride for frequent motorists.
The project is expected to by completed by Oct. 31, 2013. The contract cost for the project is $757,191.90.
