Man accused of ripping off portion of infant's scalp during argument with wife

Posted: Updated:

Ohio police say a baby was scalped during an apparent domestic incident in Fairborn last week.

Police were called on a report of a fight between man and a woman.

During the 911 call for help, Weatherspoon told investigators, "I got a hurt baby".

He also said the injury happened as a result of a "little argument" with his wife.

When police arrived they said they found an injured woman, Shunta Darlene Weatherspoon, in the apartment sitting on a couch holding an infant in a blanket.

Officers said that while talking to Weatherspoon, she pulled the blanket back from the child and they saw that the little boy was missing a portion of his scalp.

Weatherspoon told officers she thinks her husband pulled off the baby's scalp by pulling its hair while he was trying to pull her hair.
