Old elementary schools prepare for rebuild with auction

Posted: Updated:

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Bids close at 5 p.m. Friday on items being auctioned off from four closed Austintown Elementary Schools.

On Wednesday, potential buyers got a chance to see more than 1,000 items from Lloyd, Woodside, Lynn Kirk and Davis Elementary Schools.

Several of the schools are set for demolition. They will be replaced by a brand new school complex.

"Everything you can think about that an elementary school might have; desks, chairs, teachers desks, gym equipment, kitchen equipment, play equipment; we're selling play grounds out here that, to purchase, would be close to $8,000," says Paul Basinger of Basinger Auction Service.

The items can be viewed online at basingerauctions.com, and bids can also be placed online.
