$10K donation to fund Trumbull Side Lot program

Posted: Updated:

WARREN, Ohio - A donation is expected to help plant the seed for more green space in Warren neighborhoods.

Huntington Bank presented a $10,000 check to the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership for its Side Lot Incentive Program.

The check presentation took place on Washington NE lot that was purchased by the neighboring homeowners earlier this year through the Land Bank program.

Homeowners in Trumbull County are currently able to buy vacant land next to their property if it's available via tax foreclosure through the Land Bank, which often costs a small frontage fee and legal costs.

It's an investment that the Washington NE homeowner featured in the event Friday recommends.

"Give yourself more space, keep the grass cut, invest in Warren, beautify what you can while you're here," Dee Dee Stec says.

The donation will be used to buy $500 gift cards for 20 residents who have purchased side lots.
