COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The National Weather Service says at least six tornadoes touched down in Ohio during violent midweek storms.

Officials say the first touchdown was a tornado in Willshire in Van Wert County with maximum winds of about 80 mph and the lowest severity ranking of EF-0.

A slightly more intense EF-1 tornado with gusts of 95 mph was reported near Malinta in Henry County. The same storm produced an EF-0 tornado in Malinta, two EF-0 tornados in Wood County, in Custar and near Hamler, and an EF-0 tornado near Radnor in Delaware County in central Ohio.

The Weather Service says its reports are preliminary.
