MetroParks road closings for luau at the lily pond

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - On Saturday, June 22, the following roads in Mill Creek MetroParks will be closed from 5:00am until 11:00 pm. for the Luau at the Lily Pond fundraising event: Lily Pond Drive at McCollum Road; West Drive at Bears Den and Cohasset; and West Drive at Glacier. The Lily Pond itself will be closed to the public all day due to setup requirements.

The MetroParks is still accepting reservations for Luau at the Lily Pond. Admission is $50 per person, which includes a Hawaiian-themed buffet and cash bar. Guests will enjoy the island sounds of The Calypso Gypsies, a steel drum band, can bid on silent and basket auction items donated by local businesses and individuals, and find out how they can be a part of the restoration of the Lily Pond, the oldest man-made body of water in Mill Creek Park.

Proceeds from Luau at the Lily Pond will be used to help with the restoration efforts at the Lily Pond. For reservations or more information, contact the MetroParks Administrative Office at (330) 702-3000.
