Steel Valley Super Nationals kicks off eighth year

SALEM, Ohio-A a local car and race show will kick of its eighth year of operation Friday.

 The gates for the Steel Valley Super Nationals will open Friday morning at 9 a.m. Drag racing fans can enjoy races from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the weekend as well as car cruises and concerts. 

Admission for each day is $12. You can also buy a weekend pass for $30. Children under 12 have free admission.

Below is a scheduled list of events for the weekend:

FRIDAY:

  • Gates open at 9 a.m.

  • Drag racing: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

  • Huckin Fillbillys: 8 p.m.

  • Phantom Fireworks show: 9:30 p.m.

  • Jackyl concert: 10 p.m.

SATURDAY:

  • Gates open at 9 a.m.

  • Drag racing: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

  • OLDIES 106 Car Cruise: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • Haymaker concert: 8 p.m.

  • Skid Row concert: 10 p.m.

SUNDAY:

  • Gates open at 9 a.m.

  • Drag racing: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Top ten awards: 2 p.m.

  • Hot rod cruise to Quaker Steak & Lube in Austintown: 3 p.m.

  • Super Nats after party at Quaker Steak & Lube in Austintown: 5 p.m.
